STATE INVESTMENT
Gov. Andrew Cuomo proposed a new round of investment by New York State in Buffalo, which includes UB’s medical school expansion, during his regional State of the State message, presented at the Center for the Arts on North Campus.


RANKINGS CLIMB
UB’s online programs in the Graduate School of Education and the School of Nursing earned significant national endorsements from the U.S. News & World Report’s ranking of the best online programs in America.

Research Spotlight


ROAD TO THE FUTURE
The National Science Foundation has awarded UB and its partners a $1.2 million grant to create a multifaceted research facility for studying self-driving cars. UB will contribute $500,000 in matching funds toward the project.

MOSS RECEIVES TWO AWARDS
Assistant Dean Margaret Moss, School of Nursing, was honored with two awards for her book “American Indian Health and Nursing,” the first nursing textbook on health-care needs of American Indians.

UB geographer Chris Renschler's unique mix of skills and expertise has caught the attention of the United Nations. He is helping countries manage natural resources and respond to extreme events like earthquakes and hurricanes.

STREET HEALERS
While the rest of the world marvels at Buffalo’s economic resurgence, UB HEALS (Homeless health, Education, Awareness and Leadership in Street medicine) focuses on another side of the city. The program provides Buffalo's homeless with access to health care while simultaneously giving UB medical students real-life experience in community medicine.
